New Uptown Beer Walk!

November 29, 2017

Whole Brew World has now launched the new Uptown Beer Walk experience!

The Uptown district is Oakland is full of great breweries, beer bars, beer gardens and bottle shops.  But not only that, Uptown has lots of history in its architecture, arts, and entertainment.  It made sense to provide a really great tour that featured all of those elements and could be enjoyed on foot.

On this unique walking tour experience, you will taste delicious micro-brews and enjoy lunch in a hidden beer garden. As you journey to the different breweries, you will visit landmarks and listen to tales about ales and a shining town history.

The tour begins at the famous Paramount Theater where you are greeted by your tour guide.  At this point you will learn why Uptown is touted as the arts and entertainment district and the location of most of Oakland's nightlife and hot spots.  Consider taking BART to the 19th Street Station.  It is just a couple of blocks from the beginning of the tour and the end of the tour.  This allows you to drink responsibly!

Next you will head over to a beer garden to enjoy a delicious and fresh lunch to be served with a pint of your chosen local beer.  Get to know your fellow tour goers, play ping pong or just chill.

Before reaching the first brewery you will learn about Oakland's beer history, visit the Fox Theater, an art park, and learn about some influential Oakland residents who contributed to this great city.  Wear some comfortable shoes and don't forget to bring your camera!

Next enjoy beers at a brewery that has on premise brewing and at another brewery that uses Yerba Mate in their craft beers.  These beer flights will provide you with an overall story of what Oakland and other local breweries have to offer.  You will not be disappointed!

The tour will end with a visit to a few more landmarks before ending at the Latham Square Plaza fountain.  This tour is like none other in Oakland and a great day to share with your beer friends.
